Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator care for critically ill patients
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and interpret Swan-Ganz catheter data to guide therapy
• Insert, monitor, and troubleshoot arterial (art) lines and central lines
• Perform chest tube management and post-operative CABG recovery support
• Collaborate closely with physicians, perfusionists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and contribute to safe handoffs
• Support and mentor team members while upholding unit policies and best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar)
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, art/central line care, and chest tube management
• CVICU-specific experience, CABG recovery, CRRT, or Impella experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN are nice-to-have credentials

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting Swan-Ganz data
• Competent with arterial lines, central venous lines, and chest tube management
• Familiarity with CRRT and Impella therapies
• Experience using Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity 2:1 patient ratio environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
