Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately, ensuring patient safety on every dose
• Provide vancomycin, aminoglycoside, and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring with clinical confidence
• Perform medication verification and reconciliation in the inpatient pharmacy setting
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee sterile compounding workflows, including use of Dose Edge for verification
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge systems for automated medication distribution
• Document interventions and collaborate with care teams using the Meditech EMR
• Conduct pain consults and contribute to multidisciplinary patient care planning
• Support emergency medication processes including first dose verification and emergency med box readiness

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO Pharmacist License required)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient pharmacy or equivalent clinical setting
• Familiarity with sterile compounding procedures and supervising technicians
• Comfortable using Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge, and Meditech
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience a plus but not required

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication safety practices
• Proficient with automated dispensing systems like Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Experience with Dose Edge verification workflows for sterile IV compounding
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record documentation
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Leadership skills for supervising and mentoring pharmacy technicians
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
