Shift Type: Rotating day shifts including weekends (schedule varies; days rotate through weekends; occasional multi-day travel to remote locations by boat or small plane)

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough assessments and evaluate patients to identify therapy diagnoses and functional goals
- Formulate and implement individualized plans of care using evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Document encounters clearly and promptly to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate discharge planning and equipment needs
- Deliver inpatient and outpatient treatments across varied settings — clinic, hospital, schools, community centers, and patient homes
- Fit and train patients with durable medical equipment and adaptive devices to maximize independence
- Supervise and mentor support staff, students, or interns and contribute to clinical education
- Participate in quality improvement, program development, and community health initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Physical Therapy license required at time of submission
- Entry-level Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy OR Bachelor's in Physical Therapy with 2 years of relevant experience and continuing education
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must have flu vaccination prior to start
- Ability to submit 2 fingerprint cards at time of acceptance (required)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations (boat/small plane travel possible)
- Comfort working across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and community settings
Education
- Entry-level Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- OR APTA-approved Baccalaureate in Physical Therapy with 2 years’ demonstrated clinical experience and continuing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, evaluation, and treatment planning for a wide range of diagnoses
- Proficiency with clinical documentation and adherence to APTA standards
- Experience fitting and training patients in durable medical equipment and ADL assistive devices
- Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party billing mechanisms
- Strong verbal and written communication — able to educate patients, families, and staff
- Comfort using computers, tablets, telehealth/video conferencing, and common clinical software
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment, practice safe body mechanics, and work effectively in small spaces and fast-paced situations
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to build partnerships with patients and community members
