Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and craft individualized, meaningful treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, and independence
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home modifications, and equipment use
- Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and quality reporting
- Supervise and mentor COTAs and support staff when appropriate
- Measure outcomes and adjust treatment plans to ensure measurable improvement
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in Vermont or eligible to obtain Vermont licensure prior to start
- Open to new graduates — enthusiastic learners with strong clinical reasoning encouraged to apply
- Experience in acute rehab, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing preferred but not required
- Current certifications and clearances as required by facility (state licensure, background checks)
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (entry-level Master's or OTD preferred where applicable); new grads accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessments and therapeutic goal setting
- Experience with ADL training, adaptive equipment, and splinting basics
- Solid documentation skills and familiarity with rehab outcomes measurement
- Ability to collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing, and case management
- Comfort mentoring COTAs and contributing to a positive learning environment
