Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and craft individualized, meaningful treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, and independence
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home modifications, and equipment use
• Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and quality reporting
• Supervise and mentor COTAs and support staff when appropriate
• Measure outcomes and adjust treatment plans to ensure measurable improvement

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in Vermont or eligible to obtain Vermont licensure prior to start
• Open to new graduates — enthusiastic learners with strong clinical reasoning encouraged to apply
• Experience in acute rehab, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing preferred but not required
• Current certifications and clearances as required by facility (state licensure, background checks)
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (entry-level Master's or OTD preferred where applicable); new grads accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments and therapeutic goal setting
• Experience with ADL training, adaptive equipment, and splinting basics
• Solid documentation skills and familiarity with rehab outcomes measurement
• Ability to collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing, and case management
• Comfort mentoring COTAs and contributing to a positive learning environment
