Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the medical record
- Assess resident conditions, report changes to the interdisciplinary team, and follow care plans
- Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, therapists, and physicians to deliver coordinated care
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring continuity and safety
- Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and health maintenance
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license; New Mexico licensure preferred for local candidates
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Valid state-required immunizations and background checks
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and reliable communication skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced long-term care environment and collaborating with a care team
Education
- LPN diploma or certificate from an accredited nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration, wound care basics, and resident assessment
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time during 12-plus hour shifts, and handle multiple residents
- Excellent interpersonal skills to support residents and work effectively with families and staff
- Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements for long-term care facilities
