Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and titrate ventilator settings for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG collection and interpret results to guide respiratory therapy care
• Provide non-invasive ventilation care including BiPAP and CPAP management
• Deliver oxygen therapy, administer nebulized treatments and manage HiFlo devices
• Assess respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans
• Operate and maintain unit equipment (Hamilton C6, PB 980, Vapotherm, Airvo, V60, Bubble CPAP)
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse and communicate changes to the care team
• Practice AIDET and ensure a positive patient experience while collaborating with interdisciplinary staff

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (required)
• Current licensure as CRT or RRT (active)
• Credentialed and active member of NBRC
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (current)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience (job header lists 2 years)

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management expertise
• ABG analysis and interpretation
• CPAP/BiPAP and non-invasive ventilation skills
• Experience with Meditech Expanse documentation
• Familiarity with Hamilton C6 and PB 980 ventilators and other devices (Vapotherm, Airvo)
• Home O2 qualifications, CPT vest, HiFlo management and oxygen nebulizers
• Strong patient assessment, clinical decision-making and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working in ICU/PCU/ED/MST environments and following unit policies
