Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and dispense medications accurately for an inpatient hospital of approximately 285 beds
• Perform medication verification and oversee sterile IV compounding using DoseEdge
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure safe, compliant workflow in Pyxis and PakEdge systems
• Manage and dose antimicrobials and anticoagulants (vancomycin, aminoglycosides, anticoagulant dosing)
• Conduct pain consults and collaborate with clinical teams to optimize therapy
• Process first doses and maintain emergency medication boxes readiness
• Use Meditech EMR to document interventions, reconcile medications, and communicate with care teams
• Champion medication safety initiatives and continuous quality improvement on the unit

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO license required)
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and medication verification
• Comfort supervising pharmacy technicians and managing decentralized workflows
• Familiarity with DoseEdge, Pyxis, PakEdge, and Meditech EMR
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NICU experience a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication safety
• Proficiency with DoseEdge verification workflows
• Experience using Pyxis and PakEdge automated dispensing systems
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Sterile compounding best practices and regulatory compliance
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
