Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on the J6 Orthopedics unit
• Perform dressing changes, wound vac maintenance and suture/staple removal with precision
• Manage Foley catheters and NG tube care safely and compassionately
• Use Cerner EMR to document assessments, treatments and patient progress
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient patient flow and great outcomes
• Mentor colleagues and support a team environment that adapts to a fast-paced unit

Qualifications

• Current NC Registered Nurse license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Med-Surg or Ortho experience preferred)
• Comfortable with orthopedic patient population and typical ortho procedures
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability to float to other Med-Surg units as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and clinical judgment for post-op orthopedic patients
• Wound care expertise, including wound vac maintenance and dressing changes
• Competence in Foley catheter and NG tube management
• Familiarity with orthopedic equipment (walkers, CPM, lifts, bariatric and mobility devices)
• Excellent teamwork, communication and adaptability in a busy hospital setting
