Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan in a busy ED setting
• Triage, assess and prioritize care for incoming patients to ensure timely interventions
• Administer medications and therapies, including TNK and moderate sedation, following protocols
• Perform and assist with emergency procedures such as cardioversion and airway management
• Collaborate closely with providers, paramedics and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR
• Maintain patient safety and appropriate 4:1 patient ratios while adapting to fluctuating volumes
• Participate in the Unit-Based Council and contribute to process improvements and team initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (TX preferred)
• Current BLS and ALS certifications required
• TNCC and ENPC or PALS required (ENPC preferred over PALS)
• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department (ED) experience required; 2 years preferred
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR platforms
• Competency with ED procedures such as cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation
• Team-player attitude with flexibility to cover weekends and adapt to changing patient volumes

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficient documentation and charting in Meditech
• Familiarity with ED equipment (Welch Allyn, GE) and bedside monitoring
• Excellent critical thinking, situational awareness and crisis management
• Clear communication with patients, families and interprofessional teams
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
