Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care in the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology and Interventional Neurology labs, supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Prepare procedure rooms and patients efficiently to ensure safe, timely starts
• Perform comprehensive pre- and post-procedure patient assessments and monitoring; communicate abnormal findings promptly
• Circulate and assist during procedures (cardiac cath, EP studies, device implants, TAVR, LAAO, EVAR, carotid stenting, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, TCAR)
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and document care accurately in real time
• Operate and document procedures in MacLab/CardioLab and assist with 3D mapping systems, intra-cardiac ultrasound and fluoroscopy as required
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and participate in time-out/Full Stop safety processes
• Provide effective handoffs to receiving staff and contribute to precepting new team members
• Support professional growth through education, mandatory trainings and pursuit of specialty certification

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab, or ICU/CVICU/IMC strongly preferred (new grads and med/surg-only experience not being considered)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate independently during cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Competence with procedural sedation and real-time electronic clinical documentation
• Preferred: previous experience working in a Cardiovascular and EP Lab; specialty certification and advanced degree are a plus

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing accepted if BSN obtained within 36 months of hire
• Or graduation from an accredited Nursing Diploma program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring for pre/post-procedure cardiovascular and EP patients
• Procedure room preparation and sterile field management
• Circulating for procedures and assisting physicians during interventions
• Familiarity with MacLab/CardioLab documentation and electronic clinical charting
• Proficiency with X-ray fluoroscopy, intra-cardiac ultrasound and 3D mapping systems
• Ability to perform blood work analyses and interpret relevant lab results
• Strong communication for handoffs, time-outs and interdisciplinary collaboration
• On-call responsiveness and adaptability to variable shift lengths
