Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med-Surg unit
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and act on changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Support unit workflow and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license or eligible for licensure in North Carolina
• Minimum 2+ years of Med-Surg nursing experience (as stated)
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and managing multiple patients
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team-focused environment

Education

• LPN/LVN diploma or certificate from an accredited nursing program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Proficient in medication administration and basic wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Good critical thinking and patient advocacy skills
