Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered care for bone marrow transplant and oncology patients on a progressive care unit
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy safely and competently following ONS standards
• Perform thorough patient assessments and deliver timely interventions
• Read telemetry and monitor titration of drips, adjusting and reporting as needed
• Document care accurately in Meditech and participate in bedside shift report
• Participate in safety rounds, Manage Team Up and No Pass Zone initiatives to improve patient experience
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and support transfers, discharges and procedures (infrequent bone marrow biopsies)

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of practice (required)
• Minimum clinical experience: 1 year (as listed)
• Oncology & Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS chemotherapy certification preferred/required for chemo administration competency
• Comfortable reading telemetry and monitoring simple drip titrations
• Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience preferred

Education

• Active RN license required
• ADN or BSN in Nursing (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and oncology nursing principles
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Meditech electronic documentation proficiency
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Experience with progressive care workflows and 12-hour shift pacing
• Basic familiarity with bone marrow biopsy procedures and post-procedure care
