Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and rapidly assess patients presenting to the emergency department with urgency and compassion
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
• Perform advanced clinical interventions and emergency nursing procedures as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate efficient patient care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses thoroughly in the medical record
• Provide clear patient and family education during high-stress situations to support understanding and recovery
• Maintain situational awareness and ensure patient and staff safety in a fast-paced environment
• Participate in continuous quality improvement and unit-based initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or eligibility for NC licensure
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in high-acuity situations
• Current immunizations and ability to pass facility background and health screenings
• CPR and other required certifications up to date; trauma/ED certifications (TNCC/ENPC) a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills with rapid prioritization
• IV therapy, medication administration and advanced life support competency
• Proficient clinical documentation and comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure settings
• Critical thinking and ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs
• Familiarity with ED equipment, monitoring devices and trauma protocols
