Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for surgical patients
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to ensure patient safety
• Prepare the operating room and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures
• Administer medications and monitor patient status, responding quickly to changes
• Complete accurate documentation and Prime skills checklists for compliance
• Participate in pre-op and post-op patient education and handoffs to the care team

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with active license and Nursys verification (must have required licensure)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Must complete required Prime exams and skills checklist (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty exam)
• Must meet health and screening requirements (drug screen, immunizations, TB test, fit test, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in surgical nursing or perioperative care preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and surgical nursing knowledge
• Proficient in sterile technique and OR preparation
• Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Rhythm interpretation and monitoring skills
• Ability to use electronic health records and complete required documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-paced operating room settings
