Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled physical therapy evaluations and evidence-based treatments for residents
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals that help patients regain independence
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, therapy assistants and families to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, progress and discharge plans accurately and timely
• Participate in weekend rotation and split/float coverage to ensure consistent patient care
• Mentor and support therapy assistants and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Virginia (current and in good standing) — required
• BLS/CPR certification (current) — required or obtained upon hire
• Experience in skilled nursing, inpatient rehab or outpatient settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with documentation systems and basic computer skills
• Willingness to participate in scheduled weekend rotations and split/float coverage

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Bachelor/Master in Physical Therapy as required for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise
• Proficiency in mobility, balance, gait training and fall prevention strategies
• Familiarity with regulatory documentation and care planning for post-acute populations
• Good assessment, clinical reasoning and outcome-measure selection skills
• Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting
