Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding with dignity and respect
- Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Monitor and record basic health indicators, reporting significant changes to nursing staff
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and the care team to promote continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Basic life support or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Demonstrated compassion and ability to work in a team-oriented care setting
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Reliable attendance and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
- Basic understanding of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Good observation skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when interacting with older adults
- Ability to follow care plans and document accurately
