Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and medication management for an adult patient population
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with behavioral health staff
• Conduct timely documentation and maintain high standards of clinical records
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Respond to on-call needs and emergent psychiatric situations when scheduled
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice within the psychiatric program

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of psychiatry residency
• Active and unrestricted California medical license required
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry preferred
• Willingness to perform on-call duties as part of coverage
• Experience in correctional, forensic, or community mental health settings is a strong plus
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain one

Education

• MD or DO (Psychiatry residency completed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric treatments
• Comfort working in a multidisciplinary team with nurses, therapists, and correctional staff
• Clear, concise clinical documentation and communication skills
• Crisis assessment and de-escalation skills
• Culturally competent care and ability to work with diverse adult populations
