Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (day shift) with scheduled weekend rotation
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate treatment interventions under PT direction to help patients regain function and independence
- Assist the physical therapist with therapeutic exercises, modalities, gait training and transfers
- Document patient status, progress and treatment plans accurately and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient care
- Educate patients and families on exercises, home programs and safety to support long-term outcomes
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report changes to the supervising physical therapist
- Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and adhere to infection control and safety policies
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Maryland, or eligible to obtain state licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working with a diverse adult patient population in a rehabilitation setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Dependable, organized, and able to document care thoroughly and on time
- Ability to pass background checks and any required pre-employment screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (or equivalent accredited PTA program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise principles and common rehab modalities
- Skill with gait training, transfers, balance and strengthening techniques
- Competence using electronic health records for documentation
- Patient-centered care approach with strong clinical observation skills
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize a busy caseload
- Teamwork and effective communication with patients, families and staff
