Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' functional abilities and design individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
- Document progress clearly and timely, ensuring regulatory and facility standards are met
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab team members to coordinate holistic care
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, home modifications, and community resources
- Recommend and train patients on assistive devices and adaptive equipment to maximize function
- Participate in shift handoffs and team meetings to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts (required)
- Entry-level or advanced clinical degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, or OTD)
- NBCOT certification preferred or willingness to obtain where applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab/contract setting and covering all days of the week
- Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, or OTD) or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills for adult rehab populations
- Skilled in ADL/IADL training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and splinting basics
- Excellent clinical documentation and time management
- Collaborative communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet short-term contract goals and facility protocols
