Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Support activities of daily living and promote patient independence
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in the resident record and follow facility policies
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Communicate effectively with families and provide updates on resident status

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in New Mexico (or eligible to practice in NM) — required
• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (diploma or certificate)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Local candidates only — must be able to commute to Las Palomas Center (Genesis - West Region)
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma/certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic nursing assessments: vitals, skin/wound checks, and ADL assistance
• Charting in electronic health records and accurate recordkeeping
• Infection prevention, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
• Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Collaborative communication with interdisciplinary teams and families
