Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations and formulate individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications safely and effectively
- Provide crisis assessment and stabilization when needed
- Collaborate with mental health clinicians, nursing staff, and prison program teams to coordinate care
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes clearly and in a timely manner
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to optimize patient outcomes
- Fulfill on-call duties as assigned and respond to emergent psychiatric needs
Qualifications
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
- Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry preferred
- Active California medical license required or ability to obtain prior to start
- DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Experience in adult psychiatry, mental health treatment, and familiarity with correctional or forensic settings preferred
- Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass facility background checks and any required health screenings
Education
- MD or DO in Medicine with completed residency in Psychiatry
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in psychiatric assessment and psychopharmacology
- Comfort managing acute and chronic mental health conditions
- Skilled communicator with patients, families, and care teams
- Good judgment in crisis and risk assessment situations
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches for serious mental illness
- Ability to maintain timely, accurate documentation and meet regulatory requirements
