Candidate Pay Rate: $30 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of the supervising PT to help patients regain function and independence
- Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers and functional mobility coaching with compassion and clinical skill
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans and progress notes accurately and promptly in the medical record
- Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff and other disciplines to create and implement cohesive care plans
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety techniques and strategies to support recovery
- Ensure a safe therapeutic environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to positive patient outcomes
- Be a flexible team player — float between areas as needed to meet patient care demands
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PTA in Maryland
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a care team
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric populations in a rehab/long-term care setting
- Reliable, professional, and committed to providing patient-centered care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skill with therapeutic exercise, gait training and transfer techniques
- Knowledge of ADL training, balance training and fall prevention strategies
- Familiarity with documenting in electronic health record systems
- Ability to assess patient response and modify interventions appropriately
- Strong patient education and motivational skills
- Team-oriented mindset and good time-management abilities
