Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered physical therapy interventions to restore mobility and function
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Document progress and maintain accurate clinical notes using facility documentation systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and injury prevention
- Assist with therapeutic modalities, exercise programs and functional mobility training
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist (appropriate to role)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Clinical experience in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with a patient-first mindset
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team and follow established care plans
Education
- For Physical Therapist: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent
- For Physical Therapist Assistant: Associate degree or accredited PTA program completion
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with therapeutic exercise prescription and functional mobility training
- Skilled in patient assessment, gait training and assistive device education
- Familiarity with common rehab modalities and safety precautions
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt plans based on patient response
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate charting
