Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Assist with mobility, transfers and safe use of assistive devices to promote independence
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that preserves dignity and comfort
• Document resident care accurately and timely to maintain clear communication across the care team
• Support mealtime, grooming and toileting needs with patience and respect
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent credential in your state
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Background check and TB screening clearance as required by facility
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including safe resident transfers

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting older adults with activities of daily living
• Familiarity with infection control best practices and patient safety principles
• Solid documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
• Basic understanding of common geriatric conditions and mobility challenges
