Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical function and mobility using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that target meaningful functional gains
• Implement therapeutic interventions, therapeutic exercise, and modalities as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document patient progress and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and caregivers to promote independence and prevent re-injury
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that supports recovery

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in New Mexico or eligible to obtain NM licensure
• Degree in physical therapy (Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
• Clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, or similar settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with care teams
• Valid professional credentials and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, gait and balance evaluation, and therapeutic exercise
• Proficient with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Knowledge of rehabilitation principles, functional mobility training, and ADL retraining
• Ability to adapt treatment plans to individual patient goals and safety needs
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and family collaboration
