Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical function and mobility using evidence-based methods
- Develop individualized treatment plans that target meaningful functional gains
- Implement therapeutic interventions, therapeutic exercise, and modalities as appropriate
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive care
- Document patient progress and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record
- Educate patients and caregivers to promote independence and prevent re-injury
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that supports recovery
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in New Mexico or eligible to obtain NM licensure
- Degree in physical therapy (Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, or similar settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with care teams
- Valid professional credentials and compliance with facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment, gait and balance evaluation, and therapeutic exercise
- Proficient with documentation standards and electronic medical records
- Knowledge of rehabilitation principles, functional mobility training, and ADL retraining
- Ability to adapt treatment plans to individual patient goals and safety needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and family collaboration
