Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the physical therapist in delivering individualized treatment plans to maximize patient function and independence
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions, mobility training, and restorative care with compassion and precision
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity of care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, safety, and transfer techniques to promote long-term outcomes
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, share insights, and advocate for patient needs
- Maintain treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and effective therapy environment
Qualifications
- Current or compact-eligible Washington State PTA license or certification (required)
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfort working consistently across all days of the week (Sunday through Saturday coverage)
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Completion of required state PTA licensing/certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and modalities used in rehabilitation
- Skilled in implementing PT-directed treatment plans and documenting clinical outcomes
- Ability to instruct patients and families in safe home exercise programs and adaptive techniques
- Familiarity with common rehab diagnoses and progressive functional goal-setting
- Good teamwork, time management, and clinical judgement in a fast-paced setting
