Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality patient care under the plan of care developed by the physical therapist
- Assist patients with mobility, therapeutic exercises and functional activities to improve independence
- Document patient progress clearly and timely, supporting continuity of care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve meaningful patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe functional mobility
- Monitor and report changes in patient status to the supervising physical therapist
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or eligible for licensure in Washington
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Previous outpatient or post-acute care experience preferred but not required
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise principles and functional mobility training
- Skilled in patient safety, transfer techniques and mobility aids
- Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records and following care plans
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time effectively
