Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing disorders and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide evidence-based therapy interventions across a range of caseloads
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate care
• Document progress thoroughly and maintain timely clinical records in the facility EHR
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to carry over therapy into daily life
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning to support positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Speech-Language Pathology license in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (standard requirement for clinical practice)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred but not required — strong clinical skills are key
• Clinical experience with adult/geriatric populations and dysphagia management preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and criterion-referenced assessment tools
• Experience with dysphagia evaluation and treatment strategies
• Knowledge of evidence-based speech, language, and cognitive-communication interventions
• Familiarity with assistive communication devices and AAC strategies
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary rehab setting
