Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on and evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs and safe strategies to maintain gains
• Document progress thoroughly and communicate changes in patient status promptly
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition and continued recovery

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in New Mexico or able to obtain state licensure prior to start
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Current CPR and any facility-required certifications
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation or similar settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work all scheduled days (Sunday through Saturday coverage as posted)

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, and fall prevention
• Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and outcome tracking
• Knowledge of discharge planning and community resources
• Ability to triage caseloads and prioritize patient safety and goals
• Strong interpersonal skills for coaching patients and collaborating with staff
