Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate observations to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and promptly to ensure continuity and safety
- Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and quality of life
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
Qualifications
- Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Comfort working with older adults and supporting their daily living needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to complete facility-required health screenings and background checks
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices
