Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients’ communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based methods
• Develop individualized treatment plans that produce meaningful progress
• Provide skilled, compassionate therapy and adjust plans based on patient response
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Document interventions and progress thoroughly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and long-term success
• Participate in team meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives
• Mentor and communicate with support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (ability to obtain NH license if not currently licensed)
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent graduate training
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
• Experience or interest in working in a rehabilitation setting and with diverse adult populations
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with therapy-related regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and outcome measurement
• Proficient documentation and clinical reasoning
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing, PT/OT, physicians, and support staff
• Comfortable educating patients and caregivers and adapting teaching to individual needs
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a busy rehab environment
