Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall prevention practices for all residents
- Assist with feeding, bathing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Build rapport with residents and families to enhance comfort and quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification required (Certified Nursing Assistant)
- T-CNA or facility-specific training/certification as noted by the employer
- Active, unrestricted state CNA license or ability to obtain for the assignment
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing or similar settings preferred
- Basic CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Clear background check and ability to pass required health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills: ADLs, transfers, basic clinical observations
- Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and reporting changes
- Familiarity with infection prevention, safety protocols, and patient handling
- Good communication and teamwork skills with clinical staff and families
- Basic charting and documentation abilities (paper or electronic records)
- Adaptability to new facilities and ability to follow established care plans
