Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately and promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Help implement individualized care plans under the direction of nursing staff and therapists
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments following infection control practices
- Document care provided and communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to encourage participation in therapy activities and promote recovery
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work the scheduled days: Monday, Thursday, Friday — 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
- Local candidate only as noted in the order
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding requirements including background check and drug screen
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well on a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Active CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADL) assistance and patient hygiene practices
- Skill in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Basic understanding of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Comfort working in a rehabilitation or long-term care environment
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to follow care plans, complete documentation, and escalate concerns appropriately
