Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluation and treatment tailored to each patient’s goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve independence in activities of daily living
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans, documenting outcomes clearly and professionally
• Coach patients and families on adaptive techniques, home programs, and safe mobility strategies
• Support discharge planning by recommending appropriate equipment, community resources, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Current California Occupational Therapist license or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain before starting
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation settings (acute, post-acute, or outpatient) with strong patient-centered skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to collaborate across disciplines and with patients' families

Education

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master's or OTD preferred) or related healthcare degree with OT credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in OT assessments, ADL retraining, and functional goal-setting
• Proficient in therapeutic interventions for mobility, self-care, and adaptive equipment
• Experience with documentation standards and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Strong clinical reasoning, time management, and patient education abilities
• Familiarity with falls prevention, transfer training, and assistive device recommendations
