Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services following individualized treatment plans
- Provide morning ADL support and one-on-one therapy that makes a real difference in recovery
- Facilitate meaningful group treatments to build skills and community for patients
- Document timely and accurately in the hospital EMR to support care continuity and compliance
- Meet clinical, departmental, and regulatory expectations while maintaining patient-centered care
- Conduct patient and family education and collaborate with physicians and nursing teams
- Contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team and help foster a culture of collaboration
Qualifications
- Graduated from an ACOTE-accredited OTA program
- Current Maryland Occupational Therapy licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in Maryland
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience as a COTA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Strong hospital-based EMR documentation skills
- Experience running OT groups is a plus
- Excellent time management, flexibility, and communication skills
Education
- Degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADLs, transfers, and functional mobility training
- Experience with 1:1 treatment and group therapy facilitation
- Comfortable treating orthopedic, neurological, behavioral health, and critical care caseloads
- Proficient with hospital EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to deliver patient and family education effectively
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and productivity focus in a fast-paced environment
