Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures following established protocols to deliver reliable patient results
- Collect, process, and analyze blood, urine, and tissue specimens with precision and care
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure consistent performance
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and media accurately to support testing workflows
- Maintain clear, accurate records of test results and manage data within the LIS
- Follow SOPs and laboratory safety protocols to protect patients and colleagues
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support quality patient care
- Participate in quality control activities to uphold testing accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician or in a similar clinical laboratory role
- Proficiency in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood banking
- Experience with blood sampling, sample processing, reagent preparation, and lab equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and accurate data management
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to quality control
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with clinical teams
- Phlebotomy experience or prior hospital setting experience is a plus
- Ability to relocate to Culbertson, MT prior to starting (relocation required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on laboratory testing techniques across hematology, chemistry and microbiology
- Sample collection and processing best practices
- Reagent preparation and maintenance of laboratory supplies
- Operation and preventive maintenance of lab instruments
- Quality control procedures and adherence to SOPs
- Laboratory safety protocols and compliance
- Use of laboratory information systems (LIS) and accurate data entry
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
