Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services according to individualized treatment plans
• Document patient progress and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner using EMR
• Provide one-on-one care to patients across the lifespan with empathy and professionalism
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home programs, and safe mobility
• Support department compliance by maintaining accurate caseload documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive patient outcomes
• Demonstrate leadership and flexibility in a fast-paced acute hospital environment

Qualifications

• Degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program
• Current Maryland physical therapy licensure or eligibility to obtain Maryland licensure
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification
• At least 1 year of hospital acute experience preferred; new graduates with strong acute clinical rotations are encouraged to apply
• Demonstrated experience with EMR documentation
• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant degree (associate or appropriate credential)

• Patient-centered care and strong bedside manner
• EMR documentation best practices and accuracy
• Assessment and treatment of orthopedic, neurological, and critical care caseloads
• Effective patient and family education techniques
• Adaptability in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
