Shift Type: Rotating shifts (must be able to work any shift; preference for nights). Candidate must be available to start on 04/06/2026 at 7:00 AM for the initial assignment. Schedule expectation: 80 hours every 2 weeks; shifts and exact days vary and include nights and weekends.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Conduct fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart tracings to inform timely clinical decisions
- Start and manage adult and neonatal IVs and administer/titrate IV fluids and drips including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin
- Assist anesthesia with epidural/intrathecal administration and monitor PCA pumps
- Attend C-sections and care for mothers and newborns in the immediate postoperative period
- Perform newborn interventions including APGAR scoring, PKU collection, bulb and DeLee suctioning, circumcision assistance, and phototherapy
- Provide neonatal resuscitation when needed and follow STABLE/NRP protocols
- Care for high-risk OB patients (PIH, placenta issues, VBAC, GDM, PTL, PROM) and manage NST/observation patients
- Maintain accurate paper charting and operate unit equipment such as Avalon fetal monitors, Ohmeda warmers, Neopuff, and phototherapy units
- Float to other departments as necessary to support patient care and unit needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of labor and delivery and couplet care experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring (FM) certifications
- Active RN license as required by the facility/state (must meet credentialing requirements before start)
- Proven experience with newborn care including APGAR scoring, PKU, neonatal resuscitation, and phototherapy
- Ability to start on 04/06/2026 at 7:00 AM for the initial shift and to work rotating shifts (preference for nights)
- Comfortable with paper charting and using unit-specific equipment (Avalon, PYXIS, Neopuff, etc.)
- Willingness to float to other departments and adapt to variable census
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring skills and fetal heart rate interpretation
- Competence in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn nursing care
- IV starts for adults and neonates, IVPB administration, and infusion titration
- Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and STABLE stabilization skills
- Experience with C-section assistance and postoperative newborn/maternal care
- Familiarity with phototherapy, newborn screening (PKU), and newborn hearing screens
- Comfortable with both adult and neonatal crash cart procedures
- Ability to work in a paper-charting environment and operate unit equipment
