Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled surgical technologist support in the OR, PACU and Day Surgery areas
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic technique is followed
• Set up, check and prepare surgical instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures
• Assist with safe patient transfers, positioning and lifting to support patient care
• Support the surgical team during procedures with skillful, timely instrument handling
• Keep assigned areas clean, sanitary and organized according to department procedures
• Perform clerical or administrative tasks related to the department as needed
• Respond to on-call requests and contribute to smooth, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CST certification (Association of Surgical Technologists) — required
• Current Washington State license — required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
• Minimum one year hospital surgical background preferred
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
• Ability to work calmly and skillfully under stress and collaborate with multiple physicians
• Physical ability to lift, push and pull as required by the role
• On-call availability as required by the OR schedule

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist course or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of asepsis and sterile techniques
• Hands-on familiarity with surgical instruments and OR equipment
• Skill in equipment and supply preparation for a variety of procedures
• Competence in patient handling, transfers and safe positioning
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and exercise sound judgment in the OR
• Comfort providing basic clerical/administrative support when needed
