Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in a 16-bed ICU, managing complex patients including ventilated and post-arrest cases
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator assessments to optimize respiratory support
• Titrate drips and manage infusions such as vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide and insulin safely and precisely
• Perform BIS scoring and assist with Therapeutic Temperature Management (TTM) protocols when indicated
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team and eICU support to coordinate timely, evidence-based care
• Document assessments, interventions and care plans accurately in EPIC
• Serve as a dependable team player who helps the unit meet patient needs and maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Nebraska (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
• Comfortable with ventilator management, vasoactive drips and complex infusion management
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Willingness to pass an open-book orientation skills exam (90% required) — study resources provided
• Ability to comply with facility policies (artificial nails prohibited for direct patient care)
• Available for the full contract period and able to meet RTO requirements (7 or fewer days off per 13-week contract)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
• Proficient in EPIC charting system
• Skilled in ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Comfortable titrating vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives and specialty infusions
• Familiarity with BIS scoring, Therapeutic Temperature Management (TTM) and occasional IABP care
• Excellent teamwork, communication and ability to work independently in a fast-paced ICU
