Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to residents in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
- Perform thorough resident assessments and report changes promptly to the care team
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and physicians to create and follow individualized care plans
- Support admissions, discharges and transfers efficiently and respectfully
- Educate residents and families on care plans and promote resident independence
- Maintain infection control standards and a safe, clean environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered LPN license (must be eligible to practice in Maine or obtain Maine licensure)
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Comfort with electronic charting and medication administration
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
- Reliable transportation required for this assignment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program or equivalent diploma
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and documentation skills
- Skilled in resident assessment, ADL assistance and wound care basics
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Good time management, prioritization and delegation skills
