Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients regularly and deliver skilled nursing care based on the physician-authorized plan of care
• Provide direct resident care including medication administration, treatments, transfers assistance, and timely response to alarms and call lights
• Evaluate and help update treatment plans to improve patient outcomes in collaboration with the care team
• Accurately process and implement physician/provider orders in a timely manner
• Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders to ensure safe, effective care
• Delegate appropriate tasks to patient care technicians while maintaining accountability and oversight
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required (must be active in LARA and/or Nursys)
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg nursing experience required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Epic experience highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Work history and a skills checklist current to within 1 year (Med Surg) required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
• Facility will not consider local candidates within a 50-mile radius; please confirm permanent address at submission
• Must be able to provide required documentation at time of submission and follow facility scheduling policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med Surg nursing background and clinical assessment skills
• Medication administration and treatment delivery
• Ability to evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and suggest improvements
• Experience processing and executing physician orders accurately
• Delegation and oversight of patient care technicians
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and electronic charting workflows
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and compliance standards
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for a multidisciplinary environment
