Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and sterile instruments for a wide range of procedures, ensuring safety and readiness
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments and anticipating needs during procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and strict infection-control practices throughout each case
• Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment and robotics as needed for specialty cases
• Document perioperative details in the EMR (Meditech) and ensure accurate procedure records
• Participate in unit policies, quality improvement initiatives, and teamwork to support excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Must have DORA and NBSTSA credentials (required — candidates without these will not be considered)
• CST/ORT experience in an Operating Room setting (minimum 2 years experience required)
• Preferred: 3+ years of surgical tech/OR experience and current surgical technologist certification
• Experience with transplant, spine, vascular, robotics, total joints, ENT or plastics is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and OR documentation
• Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in night/weekend on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and instrument handling skills
• Familiarity with procedures: total joints, spine, kidney/liver transplants, robotics, vascular, ENT, plastics
• Meditech EMR navigation and perioperative documentation
• Ability to work smoothly under pressure and communicate clearly with surgeons and OR team
• Equipment setup and basic troubleshooting for OR technology and robotics
