Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3x12 (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM OR Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating D/N schedule including weekends; specific shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality PCU and medical-surgical nursing care for a diverse patient population, including oncology cases
- Float between Oncology MS and PCU units as needed to meet patient care demands
- Monitor and manage patients on unit-based telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias and rapid response events
- Perform IV therapy duties including starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Manage respiratory support devices such as CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care safely and competently
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC and manage medications via Pyxis
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, respiratory, PT, radiology, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain staff and patient safety while working in a locked corrections unit environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Ohio) — required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (PCU, medical-surgical, telemetry experience highly valued)
- BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Comfortable and professional working within a secure corrections setting and following safety protocols
- Ability to pass required orientation (72 hours) and comply with facility vaccine guidelines (flu required unless medically exempt)
Education
- Active RN license required; ADN or BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Medical-surgical and PCU/stepdown care
- IV therapy, PICC and central line care, blood product administration
- Respiratory support: CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems
- Experience with rapid response/code team participation and emergency response
- Feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and common oncology monitoring
- Isolation precautions, PPE use, and secure unit safety procedures
