Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients meet meaningful goals
• Provide skilled therapy and carry-over strategies for patients and families to promote real-world progress
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and caregivers to coordinate care
• Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and on time
• Educate patients, families, and staff on communication strategies, dysphagia precautions, and therapy carryover
• Monitor outcomes and adjust therapy plans to ensure measurable patient progress
• Mentor support staff and contribute to a positive, learning-focused clinical environment

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate degree)
• Active or eligible for California SLP licensure; licensure assistance available if needed
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience assessing and treating adult and/or pediatric populations in clinical settings
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with common therapy tools and adaptable to facility-specific systems

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MS or MA) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and informal assessments for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Knowledge of dysphagia evaluation and safe-aspiration strategies
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches
• Excellent interpersonal skills for coaching families and collaborating with care teams
• Proficient documentation and outcome tracking to demonstrate patient progress
• Comfort with telehealth delivery and hybrid care models when appropriate
