Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical precision
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that move patients toward meaningful goals
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, educators, and families to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Document progress and outcomes clearly and timely to support continuity and quality
- Provide family and caregiver education to empower support beyond therapy sessions
- Participate in discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure safe, effective handoffs
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
- Experience (or clinical competency) evaluating and treating pediatric and/or adult caseloads — adaptable clinicians encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Willingness to complete required onboarding and credentialing for a travel contract role
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized and informal assessment tools
- Knowledge of dysphagia assessment and management techniques
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) options
- Excellent clinical documentation and goal-writing abilities
- Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
