Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical skill
- Develop individualized treatment plans and set measurable goals that make a real difference
- Document patient care accurately and communicate progress clearly with the care team and families
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Provide patient and family education to empower long-term communication and swallowing success
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts and share best practices to elevate patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license or ability to obtain licensure promptly
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Clinical experience in acute care, outpatient, or pediatric settings is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
- Willingness to complete required background checks, health screenings, and credentialing
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
- Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches and standardized assessments
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills when working with patients and families
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting thoroughly
- Ability to adapt therapy for diverse populations and communicate across disciplines
