Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders with compassion and clinical skill
• Develop individualized treatment plans and set measurable goals that make a real difference
• Document patient care accurately and communicate progress clearly with the care team and families
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Provide patient and family education to empower long-term communication and swallowing success
• Contribute to quality improvement efforts and share best practices to elevate patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license or ability to obtain licensure promptly
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care, outpatient, or pediatric settings is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility
• Willingness to complete required background checks, health screenings, and credentialing

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches and standardized assessments
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills when working with patients and families
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting thoroughly
• Ability to adapt therapy for diverse populations and communicate across disciplines
