Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess communication and swallowing function using evidence-based evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans that make a measurable impact
- Deliver compassionate, goal-driven therapy for a diverse patient population
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapy colleagues to coordinate care
- Document progress thoroughly and communicate results with families and the care team
- Provide caregiver education and discharge planning to support long-term success
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-focused culture
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
- California Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility) — state licensure required for practice
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or active certification in progress
- Experience in adult and/or pediatric settings preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MS or MA) required; clinical fellowship completed or in progress preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Assessment and treatment of articulation, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders
- Dysphagia evaluation and management, including safe-feeding strategies
- Proficiency with electronic health records and outcome documentation
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
- Ability to adapt therapy for culturally and linguistically diverse patients
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-family education skills
