Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Deliver evidence-based therapy with compassion and clear goals that track patient progress
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to coordinate holistic care
- Document assessments and progress notes in the medical record accurately and on time
- Provide family education and training to support carryover and functional outcomes
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning to optimize transitions
Qualifications
- Active state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or ability to obtain California licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or equivalent clinical credential
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations across the lifespan
- Clean background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Excellent communication skills, organization, and professional bedside manner
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing domains
- Familiarity with standardized testing and evidence-based treatment approaches
- Skilled in developing measurable treatment goals and documenting functional progress
- Ability to adapt therapy to cultural and linguistic needs of patients
- Comfortable using electronic health records and telehealth platforms
- Team-focused mindset with strong collaboration and patient advocacy abilities
