Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: Day shifts 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12-hour), Night shifts 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12-hour); schedule rotates and includes weekends; self-schedule requests with final balanced schedule
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity PCU nursing care for oncology telemetry patients with compassion and clinical expertise
- Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely interventions
- Operate and manage specialty equipment including GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps and bladder scanners
- Perform and manage central lines, PICCs, ports, peripheral IVs and blood product administration safely
- Manage respiratory supports such as CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC and tracheostomy care when needed
- Follow infection prevention and isolation precautions to protect patients and the team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners—pharmacy, respiratory therapy, PT, social work—to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and families about procedures, medications and discharge planning with empathy and clarity
- Participate in unit float assignments to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as required
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice (required)
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience; PCU/telemetry or ICU backgrounds do well here
- Certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS and NIHSS required
- Familiarity with Epic charting system (required)
- Experience with high-acuity PCU care, cardiac monitoring, and telemetry
- Ability and willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Previous travel experience preferred but not required
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
- Cardiac monitoring and familiarity with heparin and cardiac drip protocols (no titration or titration where applicable)
- Central line, PICC and port care and troubleshooting
- IV therapy, phlebotomy and peripheral IV management
- Feeding tube care and tracheostomy management
- Chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur-evac) and non-invasive airway management
- ABG interpretation and use of HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP and PCA pumps
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions and fall prevention practices
- Oncology fundamentals and chemotherapy administration/monitoring (preferred)
